RREEF Global Property Securities Fund

Overview

The RREEF Global Property Securities strategies provide valuable diversification benefits by investing globally. The strategies aim to deliver performance in excess of the relevant benchmark, with attention to risk, by investing primarily in property trusts and property related companies from geographical regions around the globe: the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia.

The key philosophical elements underlying RREEF’s Global Real Estate Securities investment process are as follows:

  • Over the long term real estate securities will trade near the intrinsic value of their assets (net asset value).
  • Knowledge of broader capital markets is essential.
  • Real estate is a local business and teams situated in local markets have better access to and understanding of information critical to the identification of mispricing opportunities.
  • Real estate securities markets are inefficient and these inefficiencies are exploitable through both top down country and sector allocation, in addition to bottom up stock selection.

While real estate securities markets have been established in some countries for a number of years, the relatively new global dimension of this asset class compounds market inefficiencies and creates opportunities for active management. Global factors and local market conditions drive performance and contribute to diversification benefits and we believe that the best way to execute a global securities strategy is through a two-part process incorporating top-down regional allocation and bottom-up stock selection.
